Volit in the World Premiere of Pamela Z’s Ink

San Francisco chamber chorus, Volti, will perform Ink, by Pamela Z, in an streaming event at Volti at 5:30pm in USA Ink is a work that unfolds in five sonically distinct movements that variously use standard notation, graphic elements, instructions, and rote transmission of sung and spoken vocal material. Speech fragments from interviews with the Volti singers make up a portion of the sonic structure and determine some of the work’s melodic and rhythmic passages.  Volti commissioned Pamela Z to compose this work specifically for their current online streaming performance series.
